Location, location, location?
Our launch team has been scouting out potential locations, hoping to sign a lease before summer. It’s both exciting and extremely nerve-wracking trying to figure out if a random potential location will be the suitable long-term home of Opo Coffee. With every spot having its unique pros and cons, here are factors that weigh heavily on our decision:
Desire to be ITP (inside the perimeter) on the east side of Atlanta.
Enough square footage to house all our roasting operations, a retail bar, and a training lab.
Doesn’t break the bank on our monthly rent payments (of course this is a relative factor).
Adequate available parking for customers.
Close enough to major thoroughfares/not out of the way/not exclusively a destination location.
Decent distance from major competition and Taproom Coffee’s location.
The right balance of buildout cost, rent payments, specific location advantages.
I know I can’t get every single thing on my ideal wish list. I do hope we soon find the place that strikes the acceptable balance of all the factors. With our roasting equipment already on order, we need to have a place to install it all in 6 months!
