Quick Update

It’s been a busy last couple of months! The biggest news is that we officially signed the lease for the Opo Coffee location and began our pre-construction demolition!

We’re replacing the old front counter with a new espresso bar and we’re bumping out the walls of the old pizza oven room to create a larger coffee roasting room.

We cleared out the two gigantic Italian pizza ovens to make way for our Probat UG-15 Retro roaster, which is coming to Atlanta today!

Our building permit application is in its final stages and we’ll hopefully submit it within the next week. Fingers crossed, we’ll get a building permit next month to be on track for a summer opening.

Our first origin trip!

Last week, our team had the incredible privilege of joining our importer Socii Coffee on an origin trip to Honduras, where we got to learn so much about coffee production and processing. It was truly idyllic, strolling through what felt like coffee forests, shaded by banana and pine trees, with spectacular views of the countryside. A highlight was getting to personally meet Manuel Portillo, the producer of Opo’s very first coffee that we launched with at the end of last year. He proudly showed off his beautiful farm, taking us to the very spot on his farm where that coffee came from.

With Manuel, looking out at the section of his farm where he grows red catuai coffee plants.

I’ll put together a detailed trip report in a post next week!
