Arrival of the Roaster

This week, our roaster finally arrived at our location! We placed the original order for our Probat UG15 Retro almost one year ago to the day. It was built to order just for us, by Probat’s manufacturing partner Kirsch & Mausser in Germany.

This was our first go at purchasing a production roaster, and we learned a lot about the difficulties of having large pieces of commercial equipment manufactured and shipped internationally. Communication was difficult with time differences and language barriers, timeline estimates were way off due to supply chain issues from COVID-19, and additional expenses for shipping and logistics were a lot more than we had penciled in.

Despite all the headaches, the long-awaited roaster arrived and we were able to forklift into our space two pallets of equipment that weight a literal ton each. We slid them into the corner that will be their permanent home, we’ll build the room around the equipment, and then do our final adjustments and installation as we get closer to the completion of our buildout.

Chris and I are ecstatic about this new “toy”, though it will still be a while before we get to play with it.

I hope to show off more pictures of the roaster and the progress of our buildout over the next few months!
